Most people spend 62% of their waking hours at home. That’s a lot of time dealing with a kitchen that’s too small, a bathroom that makes you sigh every morning, or a layout that stopped making sense somewhere around 2015 when you started working from home.

Here in Clintonville, we get harsh winters and homes that were built before anyone cared about open floor plans or main suites.

The question isn’t really “should I remodel?” You already know the answer. The question is who you trust to do it right, and who you can stand having in your house for weeks at a time.

1. Remodeling Journey – Featured Contractor

We’re Remodeling Journey. Full disclosure, we’ve screwed up before. Ordered the wrong tile once. Had a subcontractor no-show on a Tuesday morning. The difference is we fixed it, ate the cost, and made it right. That’s the job.

Most home remodeling projects fail because nobody’s paying attention. The contractor shows up, tears stuff out, then disappears for three days while you’re eating takeout and showering at your neighbor’s house. We don’t do that. Owner Justin is on-site. Daily. He’s the one you text when something looks off, and he’s the one who shows up to fix it.

Pricing? Depends on what you’re doing. Simple stuff like new countertops and a backsplash can be done in a week.

Full home gut jobs run $150k to $700k depending on square footage and how much you’re changing. We did one in Minocqua for $382k that included new framing, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, three bedrooms, three baths, finished basement, sunroom. Everything.

Timelines are honest. Powder rooms take two weeks. Full bathroom remodels take four to five weeks, add another month if you want custom glass. Custom kitchens can take twelve weeks because good cabinets don’t show up overnight.

We warranty the work for five years. Justin checks in after we’re done, does yearly visits to make sure nothing’s falling apart. Most contractors disappear once the check clears. We don’t.

The crew? Local guys Justin’s worked with for years. You meet them before they start, and Justin supervises them every single day. Nobody’s freelancing in your house.

We could not be happier with our bathroom renovation completed by Justin and his team. The quality of the work is excellent, and completion time was ahead of schedule. The cost of the project was exactly as quoted.

The assistance given to us by Justin and his wife was much appreciated, and the two of them helped us narrow down the many choices we had. Every team member in his staff was exceptionally talented

Justin sure knows how to select a great team. We look forward to working with Rust and Sawdust in the future. We give them our highest recommendation.

We want to say that working with Justin and his team at Remodeling Journey was a great experience

All the subcontractors were professional and hard working. From our initial consultation to our final walkthrough, they maintained clear and open communication. All concerns, no matter the size, were addressed immediately and resolved without any worries.

We felt very heard and Justin always worked with us to make sure we would love the final outcome. We appreciate the 5 year guarantee on our bathroom remodel, proving Justin and his team want us to be happy with the final results.

They truly go above and beyond to deliver exceptional results, and we wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again for future projects.

Very professional, came out the same week. Even protected the carpeting. He replaced the floor and wall after a water leak. The price was actually very cheap so I was not expecting the quality I received from this business. Highly recommend him.

Conclusion

You should call a few contractors. Get quotes, ask questions, see who shows up on time for the estimate. Some will lowball you, some will overpromise, some will be perfectly fine.

But here’s what separates good contractors from the rest: who answers the phone six months later when something needs adjusting? Who admits when they made a mistake and fixes it without charging you again? Who treats your home like it matters instead of just another job?

We’ve been doing this long enough to know that good work speaks louder than any sales pitch. At Remodeling Journey, we’re remodeling homes so people can actually enjoy living in them again. Better kitchens, smarter layouts, bathrooms that don’t make you want to tear your hair out.

Ready to stop dealing with a house that frustrates you every day? Call us at (715) 551-7328 or visit our contact page. We’ll come take a look and tell you what makes sense.
