FAQs About Sunroom Additions

How long does a sunroom take to build?

Most sunrooms take roughly two to four months to build, depending on the type and size. Three-season builds tend to move faster than four-season ones because they involve less HVAC, glazing, and insulation work. After your consultation, we put together a project calendar with realistic dates for each phase so you know exactly what to expect week by week.

Three-season or four-season, which one makes more sense?

It depends on how you plan to use it. A three-season sunroom works great if you want a relaxed warm-weather space and don’t need it in deep winter. A four-season build is a bigger project but pays off if you actually want to read in the sunroom in January, host year-round, or treat it as a real extra room.

Do I need a permit for a sunroom?

Yes, sunrooms count as additions and require building permits, structural review, and inspections. We handle all of it in-house, including plans, permit submissions, code compliance, and inspection scheduling. You won’t be making phone calls to the building department or chasing inspectors, that’s part of what you hire us for.

Will my sunroom hold up through the winter?

A properly built four-season sunroom absolutely will, and that’s how we build them. High-performance insulated glass, snow-rated roof systems, sealed connections to the existing house, and an HVAC plan that fits the space all matter. Cut corners on any of those and you end up with a beautiful room you only use four months a year.
