We had been wanting to update our fireplace for what seemed like years, but had no idea where to even begin. I spent months struggling to find someone to simply respond to my inquiries, and even then, was left on my own to come up with a design and materials not knowing what was safe or appropriate for a fireplace.
I had seen Facebook posts of Remodeling Journey’s business model and projects, and even though I was afraid my fireplace was too small of a job for them, I crossed my fingers and contacted Justin. He returned my call within a day, met me within a week at my house to see the fireplace in person, listened to my thoughts and bounced some ideas off of me, and right then and there presented a proposal and budget. When it comes to home projects, I need someone to basically hold my hand and guide me every step of the way, and after that first meeting I was confident I was in good hands.
We received in writing, clearly laid out for us, the scope of the work to be completed. Adria created a 3D rendering of the fireplace, which looked exactly as I had envisioned and gave me confidence in what the final project would look like. Every detail was considered down to the exact paint color and the knots in the wood mantle I desired. It was exciting to see the rendering and have a clear vision of the project. We were all on the same page.
Making the final stone and wood selections was simple because I trusted Justin and Adria had already narrowed down the best options for me to choose from, minimizing my overthinking and second guessing. I felt good about the materials I chose with their guidance because of their expertise and experience.
The project was scheduled much sooner than expected and once work was started, completed in less than a week. Justin, Adria, and their team were above all else, KIND…but also professional and very skilled at what they do. Everyone coming into our home was respectful of our family’s schedule, and even adjusted their work day to accommodate us. I received clear communication daily as to who would be coming and when. The work space was kept clean so we could continue “living” in our living room after they left for the day.
And when the project was completed, obviously I was excited, but I could also feel their excitement for me and my family to have this new, beautiful space. One small fireplace update really changed the entire look and feel of our main living area. I can’t thank Justin, Adria, and their team enough and I know when we are ready to tackle another home project, they will be our first and only choice.
